Witness - tell others about Jesus

     When you find a good thing you want to share it!  Witnessing is simply telling others about the joy of your relationship with Jesus.  A witness is someone who gives a testimony to what he has seen, heard and experienced.  It doesn't mean that you need to preach.  Witnessing for Christ is simply being who you are.  It means that you live for Jesus every day so that your actions and your words tell the story of the Jesus who saved you from sin and eternal punishment, and gave you a wonderful life. 

     There are two ways you must witness in order to be effective for Jesus. #1 With your Works.  Actions speak louder than words.  By living every day by the principles of God's Word and displaying the characteristics of a Spirit controlled life, others will be curious about what makes you tick.  #2  With your Words.  If we only witness with our actions, people will know you are a good person, but will not know why.  You will leave them guessing.  I have never heard anyone ever say , "I was won to Christ by the silence of my neighbor!"  How will they know unless someone tells them?  (Romans 10:14-15)

Sharing Your Personal Testimony

     One effective method of evangelism is the giving of your personal testimony.  The skeptic may deny your doctrine or attack your church but he cannot honestly ignore the fact that your life has been changed.  If you have not discovered the value of telling others how God rearranged your life, you've missed a vital link in the chain of his blessing. 

     I suggest that you think of your salvation in three phases... and construct your testimony accordingly: A) Before you received Eternal Life - The loneliness, lack of peace, absence of love, unrest and fears; B) The decision that revolutionized your life, and C) The change, the difference He has made since your received Christ... Be specific and clear about how you came to know Christ.  Be simple and direct, positive and courteous.

Sharing The Good News
     The two greatest obstacles to sharing your faith are Fear and Lack of training.  God's empowering can change our fear into power, and you can learn to share your faith effectively.  If you invest some time to learn a simple outline and a few important Bible verses you can share your faith with confidence.  The more you learn and grow, the more confident you will become.  A simple gospel presentation can be found at our pages answering the question,  "How Can I Know God?"  Memorize the outline and the words used, practice on your friends, and you will soon be able to lead someone to Christ.  At Pine Grove we have a 13 week class called Evangelism Explosion which trains individuals how to share their faith effectively.  Give thought to this, my friend.  Ask God to open your lips and honor your words and you will soon be dissatisfied with your former life
